Breaking the Habit of “Not Today”
We get it. Sometimes you just don’t have the energy for a hard workout. Maybe you feel a migraine coming on? Maybe you’re just run-down and know that a workout is going to send you into burn-out mode? Regardless of why, it’s actually sometimes wiser to do less. But we want to advise against canceling altogether.
Consistency. Moving every day (yes every day) is what keeps your joints lubricated and your muscles malleable. And when you do something every day, you increase your commitment to your health and your results. Whereas repeatedly skipping that afternoon walk or your morning roll-out just sets the tone that “there’s always tomorrow”.
So we’d like to introduce the concept of a “Care Day”. Basically, you show up anyway, and we clear a space for you to roll-out and stretch. If you’re sick or your doc says you have to pause, then of course, cancel. But, if it’s just that you feel overwhelmed or exhausted, tell your trainer that you need a Care Day instead of a Workout Day.
Building strength isn’t just about working hard on the “good days,” it's about caring for your body at every stage of the journey. Point is, we want you to get results, and the best way to do that is to insist that you keep showing up.
